Complementary Botanicals

Christine Boland

Trend analyst Christine Boland writes a blog for Ralston. In our Colour Moods series, Moodboard ‘Complementary Botanicals’.

Flavours

This colour mood started with the cover of the book ‘Flavours’, by Florian Seyd and Ueli Signer van Wunderkammer.

Complementaire combinations

Gradations of green with orange and pink-red are a magnificent complementary combination. Seeking to connect with nature we continue to be fascinated by the wondrous world of natural greens and we decorate to our hearts’ content with expressive plants, flowers, animals and other treasures of nature. Paint a wall green and apply different gradations. Water melon and geranium reds are a novel spark in this trend. We’re also seeing a comeback of transparent green glass, with a touch of nostalgia and a wink to recycling.
